Jennifer Laska, LMHC

Biography

Jennifer Laska graduated from California State University, Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University. Her certifications include Child Mental Health Specialist and Positive Discipline Parenting, and she has additional training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Domestic Violence and Sexual Trauma.
Jennifer is passionate about empowering both individuals and families to enhance their development of resilience, personal strengths and gratitude. Her approach to therapy is client centered and therefore places great value in the therapeutic relationship. Respectful, non-judgemental and compassionate communication is key. For the past 8 years in Community Mental Health Jennifer’s focus has been individuals, families and groups with a specialty in working with children and adolescents. During this time, she has had the good fortune of working in Pediatric Offices, Middle Schools and High Schools in the area.

Jennifer is a Mother of two and when she is not working enjoys many outdoor activities including paddle boarding, surfing, and hiking. Jennifer’s life situation is changing and she will be available for virtual sessions only as of August 10th, 2024.
